Georges Borgeaud (1913-1998) was a Swiss painter. Having lost his parents at a young age he was placed in an orphanage before working as a farmhand. In 1936, he left the country to attend the School of Arts and Crafts of Geneva and the workshop of Christian Zwahlen (1939 to 1945). He settled in the city of Geneva and devoted himself to painting still life and landscapes in Switzerland and abroad. His first exhibition was held in 1947 and until 1968 he lived from odd jobs. He exhibited in Paris (1962 & 1963), Tokyo, Osaka and Rio de Janeiro. The artist leaves a large number of works including oils, gouaches, watercolours and ink drawings reaching thousand of pounds in auctions today.
