Emblems, Divine and Moral by Frances Quarles, 1818 - Chiswick Press
Half brown 'antique' sprinkled calf, red leather title label in gilt, blind ruling to both marbled boards and silk head & tailbands. In fine clean condition, the lighter marks seen in the photograph are natural to the leather. Illustrated with 77 fine wood engravings, a delightful little book. Slight marking to pages 208/9 caused by a pressed flower, otherwise in very good and clean condition throughout. An early item from the Chiswick Press.
