The Hundred Years by Philip Guedalla, 1939 - Dover College Prize Binding by Morrell
Quarter red calf binding with red cloth boards, Dover College gilt emblem to upper board and five raised bands to the spine with gilt lettering or gilt design to them. Marbled endpapers, top edge gilt and binder's stamp to top verso of ffep. A smart and clean binding with only a light mark to the leather on the upper board and light scuffing to corners, otherwise in very good condition. Light foxing to first few and last pages and sporadic spotting throughout, but in general very clean with a touch of age toning to pages. Prize plate from Dover College to front endboard, dated July 1939.
