The Master Painters of Britain edited by Gleeson White, 1897 - In Four Volumes
Green cloth covers with green & yellow Art Nouveau embossed design and lettering to the spine and upper board, green endpapers, tissue guarded frontis engraving and all edges orange. Fully illustrated with 41 plates in each volume and a page of text to each plate, printed to only one side of the page. A very smart set, in general with light fading to the spine, light bumping to the corners and light marks and slight browning to the boards. Internally very clean with occasional light marks to a few pages and light browning/foxing to the pages, mainly the edges, all plates clean and bright. Volume I - 1897, condition as noted with marks to upper board. Volume II - 1898. Volume III - 1898 - a couple of brown spots to the edges of the frontispiece. Volume IV - 1898 - a couple of light marks to the boards.
