Signed with dedication from the Author to ffep: "To my Night Nurse, whose wonderful care & invariable patience contributed in no small degree to the recovery of the Author, Torrens Trotter. Huxley May 1923". White cloth covers with gilt lettering and coat of arms to the upper board, gilt lettering to the spine, top edge gilt, rough page edges and illustrated with ten black & white photographs. With 'Notice to Visitors' pasted to front and rear free endpapers. Browning to the spine and boards' edges, marks to the boards, bumping to corners and small dent/scuff to rear board. Foxing to first and last pages, age toning to pages' edges and to the plates and browning to the fore edge but in general with clean pages and bright illustrations.
